KAWE BEGAN CONSTRUCTION OF APARTMENTS

Kawe AS, which has been engaged in commercial real estate investments and construction for 20 years, started its first residential real estate development – the sale and construction of the class A energy efficiency rated Türi Quarter. There will be four apartment buildings in the park with tall greenery, with 183 homes located on the edge of Tallinn City Centre. Construction of the Türi 9/1 building will begin in the first stage, with 42 apartments having been put up for sale.

According to Jaanus Kosemaa, partner in Kawe, the construction of homes is a logical direction of expansion for Kawe, with preparations having taken place over a long period of time with Kawe’s Norwegian partners. ‘When we first entered the market, our focus was on commercial real estate investments that generated cash flow, and as the company grew, we also began developing ourselves. Today, we are ready to bring the knowledge gained in the development of our offices – energy savings and low operating costs – to residential development,’ said Kosemaa.

The concept as a whole for the area was designed by the architects of the architectural firms of DAGOpen and LÜNK Architects. ‘The collaboration with the Kawe team was both interesting and meaningful. All in all, a pleasant symbiosis was born with the specifics of our market and the involvement of the best practices of the Norwegian market. The presence alone of balconies that are deeper than usual (1.8m) is something found in only a few developments’, said LÜNK architect Üllar Ambos.

In the Türi Quarter there will be four class A energy efficiency rated apartment buildings built with a modern style of architecture. The buildings will have seven stories and be connected to each other by an underground car park. All apartments have large floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings (2.75 m – 3.1 m), water underfloor heating, and carefully thought-out plans. Each apartment has either a personal terrace that opens into a green courtyard or a deeper than usual glass-railed balcony. Top floor residents can enjoy expansive views of Lake Ülemiste or Tallinn City Centre from their private terraces.

New residents of the first building will be able to move in by the end of summer 2023. Completion of the entire quarter is planned for 2026.
